LA Galaxy II struggles to find confidence in terms of wins has been an issue for the team this season, however they did takeaway some positives in their 2-3 loss to Sacramento Republic on Sunday.
Youth Are Gaining Experience
Now although Los Dos have struggled this season, its no question that youth players such as Justin Dillon, Jonathan Hernandez, Tyler Turner, Adonis Amaya, and others are gaining valuable experience despite the losses that have come along the way in these sort of in game situations. To evaluate, knowing when the players need to step up whether it’d be defensively, in the midfield, or attack in particular moments has been a positive, and they have shown that maturity.
Never Give Up Mentality
Thanks to goal-scorers Jeremy Hall, Tyler Blackwood, and Trevin Caesar, Los Dos were down 0-3 at the half, but the team did come-back to shorten the lead by one by the time the 70th minute struck. It was Justin Dillon, and Adrian Vera who responded well to Sacramento’s lead, and provided that spark to the team for a potential turn around. Unfortunately, a team like Sacramento Republic are good enough to maintain a strong lead, and Los Dos would find themselves coming up short.
It was goalkeeper Eric Lopez who kept Los Dos in the game throughout several events, and deservedly should be known as a standout vs Sacramento. Despite the fact that they were scored on three times, it was more of a defensive liability than Lopez being beaten convincingly. Nonetheless, the 18-year old showed promise against a lethal Sacramento attack, and will look to continue to help Los Dos as the season continues.
