In an effort to build their roster for the upcoming 2018 MLS season, LAFC has signed forward Rodrigo Pacheco on-loan from Argentinian first division side Lanus.
Immediately after, the club has sent the 21-year-old forward out on loan to their USL affiliate Orange County SC for the rest of the 2017 season, as they did with midfielder Carlos Alvarez, and forward Monday Etim.

John Thorrington, LAFC’s general manager, made a statement about the signing of Pacheco:
“We are incredibly excited to announce the arrival of Rodrigo Pacheco to LAFC… “Rodrigo is a striker with great potential and we look forward to closely monitoring his development with Orange County SC.”
Pacheco will be right in the thick of things as Orange County are fighting for a spot in the playoffs.
OCSC is currently in 11th place in the Western Conference, four points out of a playoff spot. Orange County General Manager and EVP of Soccer Operations Oliver Wyss expects big things from his new player:
“We are thrilled to welcome Rodrigo to Orange County SC and expect him to play an important role in our push for a playoff spot.”
The team who occupy the last playoff spot is Phoenix Rising who they will play on Wednesday.
Pacheco is eligible to make his appearance with Orange County SC for Wednesday’s match as they look to climb back into playoff contention.
This becomes LAFC’s fourth roster signing ahead of their inaugural season in 2018 with Mexican international Carlos Vela highlighting the roster thus far. Along with Alvarez, Etim and now Pacheco in the fold, LAFC is acquiring young talent. In addition, the Black and Gold has been also linked with highly-rated 20-year-old Ecuador international Jordan Sierra.
