Nothing gets you over a loss like a homecoming where you score four goals and take down one of your rivals in the West.

LAFC once again showed everyone in the MLS why they’ve been the best team in the league dispatching the Seattle Sounders 4-1 on Easter Sunday.

LAFC did not have a lot of time to dwell on their first loss of the season, a midweek tussle with the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0. Against the Sounders LAFC showed no signs of the loss lingering over their play.

Like most games this season it was their captain Carlos Vela who got them going. In the 12th minute Vela got the scoring going with his 9th goal of the season.

Vela took a Mark-Anthony Kaye pass down the middle of the pitch, got past his defender into the box and scored on a left footed shot that beat Stefan Frei high and to the right.

LAFC was not satisfied with just the one goal and kept pushing for a second, when in the 39th minute Eduard Atuesta struck.

Atuesta found himself with some space, faked a shot to bring down a defender and scored on a powerful shot to put LAFC up 2-0 before halftime.

The LAFC backline came out of the locker room sleepy in the second half giving up a quick goal. Sounders midfielder Harry Shipp scored in the 51st minute when he found himself alone in the LAFC box and beat Tyler Miller with a low shot.

Undeterred by the goal, LAFC immediately put the game away for good. In the 55th minute Vela scored his second goal of the game thanks to a through ball from Kaye.

Five minutes later Christian Ramirez slammed the door shut on any chances of a comeback for the Sounders, scoring his second goal of the season on a give-and-go with Kaye.

After the game coach Bob Bradley had high praise for Ramirez stating:

“Best game Christian (Ramirez) has played for us”

Kaye garnered high praise from his teammates after wining Man of the Match thanks to assists on three of the four goals.

Carlos Vela stated: “I love to have Mark (Anthony Kaye) at my back because he does everything It’s not just about the passes. He’s always helping the attacking three”

These teams will do this again in the coming weekend this time in Seattle, if LAFC puts on a similar performance then there will be no doubt who the best team in MLS is.
