FC Bayern LA Throw Stammtisch to Celebrate End of the Season

First of all, you probably don’t know what ‘stammtisch’ means. Stammtisch in German means a friendly get together.

For the FC Bayern LA Supporters group, stammtisches are a regular form of social gathering for them to discuss all things Bayern Munich, Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, or just life in general.

On June 24th, the Wirtshaus in LA was the site for Bayern LA’s end of the season stammtisch, a total of 30 Bayern fans took part in the post season celebrations and festivities with beer, schnitzel, good conversations, and several games of ping pong.

Since the Supporters Group’s inception in 2014, they’ve hosted well over 15 of these types of gatherings.

FC Bayern LA board member Ashley Szabo stated that she has made many friends as a result:

“I’ve made so many friends being a part of this fan club that I never would have met ever in my life and not only do we have something in common, but we end up becoming friends outside of the fan club and events. I’ve met so many awesome.

In terms of summing up Bayern’s season, board president Thomas Maldonado believes that Bayern experienced a reality check, but will be able to compete to high level in all competitions next season:

“Bayern’s season gave us a reality check in many ways. We had to say goodbye to aging members and retiring members, but at the same time, it showed how much potential we have. With a new coach, a new system, and a new philosophy molding with the old German way of playing, it showed us that we are one of the best teams in Europe. Despite decisions coming in situations that are out of our control, we have a chance to win every competition Bayern are competing in next season.”
